babyface vitamin k serum

Vitamin K is the underdog of the vitamin world. Nobody ever pays it any attention. Until blood spills, causing unsightly purplish spots to appear anywhere on the face. Then, vitamin K becomes a star. When it starts doing its tricks, dark circles get smaller. Bruises heal faster. Spiders veins are dealt with. Vitamin K vacuums all the blood away.

What Is Vitamin K?

Vitamin K, also called phytonadione in the science world, is a fat-soluble vitamin your body naturally makes in your liver. You can also get your dose from cottage cheese, some types of fermented cheese and chicken.

Vitamin K takes its name from the German word koagulation. Its job is to help your blood to clot. That’s a superpower that helps it treat dark circles, spider veins and lots of other forms of discolourations.

Vitamin K And Dark Circles

Not all dark circles are created equal. Some are caused by too much sun exposure or lack of sleep. The best way to fight those is with a good sunscreen and some much-needed zzzz. But, sometimes, your fragile capillaries are to blame. The skin under your eyes is so thin that, even the tiniest blood leak shows up immediately on your face, making you look like you haven’t slept for a week.

That’s when vitamin K comes to the rescue. Its blood-clotting superpowers stop the leaking, making that purplish shadow slowly disappear. Science says vitamin K works even better when it’s paired with retinol and fellow vitamins C and E. They help it penetrate deeply into the skin, boost collagen production and strengthen the thinner under-eye skin, too.

Vitamin K And Capillaries

The theory is similar. When you bump into something, your capillaries break, spilling blood everywhere under your skin. That little pool shows up in the form of a purple or brown spot. By helping your blood to clot, vitamin K limits the damage. The sooner you apply it after a bump, the smaller the bruise will be and the sooner it will heal.

Plus, vitamin K also helps your body break down the blood and absorb it, making any bruises you already have disappear faster. To speed up the process, we recommend using our Vitamin K Cream once daily, until no longer needed.

Vitamin K And Spider Veins/Broken Capillaries

By now you know that vitamin K makes any leaked blood heal more quickly. But, how? Well, once it gets through your skin, it makes its way into the capillaries. There, it strengthens and repairs any damaged blood vessels, cleaning up the mess faster. That’s why it’s such a good remedy for both broken capillaries and spider veins.

Vitamin K And Post-Surgery Healing

If you’ve ever had any cosmetic surgery, laser treatments or fillers, you know how long those bruises and scars can take to heal. To help them disappear faster, doctors recommend using vitamin K during the recovery period. We suggest you start applying it a couple of weeks in advance. That way, you can help limit the damage you get during the treatment, speeding up the healing process even more.

If blood’s the culprit, turn to vitamin K. It won’t let you down.
