5 Ways to Improve Your Nighttime Beauty Routine

 

Overwhelmed by the countless beauty advice, tricks, and hacks out there? Beauty maintenance doesn’t have to be a twelve-step, time-consuming process.

Want a little insider secret? Your own body will do most of the work for you overnight. If you set it up for success, that is. Science says that a little bit of help from your nightly beauty regimen can allow your body to replenish its systems while you sleep.

Here are 5 quick and easy steps to complete before bedtime to ensure you wake up feeling rejuvenated and beautiful.

 

  1. Remove your makeup-- all of it!

Makeup can get caked onto your skin, trapping dirt and bacteria in your pores and clogging your skin. Not a great combo. It’s important to make sure you remove all of your makeup before washing your face so that you can really give your skin the love it deserves.   1. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Have we said moisturize yet? This crucial step in the skincare regimen can make or break your skin. Haircare is usually one of the most commonly neglected aspects of a beauty routine, but our hair goes through a lot while we toss and turn all night. A few simple steps to remember: never sleep on wet hair, use silk pillowcases if you can, and brush it before crawling into bed. Precautions like these can protect your locks from breakage and split ends.

 

  1. Get a full night’s rest

Getting your full eight hours is as crucial as any other step in your nighttime routine. Sleep replenishes your collagen levels and rebuilds cell walls which can leave your skin plump and clear. Sleep also improves blood flow which improves the circulation of nutrients to the scalp and can lead to stronger, thicker hair. To get the best rest possible, make sure you’re sleeping on a top-quality mattress, and keeping your room cool and hydrated.
