More About MAP (Magnesuim Ascorbyl Phosphate) Vitamin C

MAP is a water-soluble derivative of vitamin C that is rapidly gaining popularity in skin care. It’s stand-out features are that it’s non-irritating, and it’s more stable than L-ascorbic acid. Research is also finding that it appears to be just as effective as ascorbic acid in the stimulation of collagen production.

Overall, MAP appears to be a better choice than L-ascorbic acid vitamin C for people with sensitive skin and those wishing to avoid any concomitant exfoliating effects. Other vitamin C formulas can be highly acidic and therefore produce exfoliation.

MAP vitamin C has been widely used in various cosmetics and quasi-drugs because of its advantageous properties such as inhibitory effects on melanogenesis, promotion of collagen synthesis, and prevention of lipid peroxidation. MAP plays an important role in preventing dry skin, sunburn, chloasma and ephelides, and in keeping the skin healthy and young. MAP is a phosphate ester, therefore, it is easily hydrolyzed to ascorbic acid in the skin by enzymes (phosphatase), and it shows physiological and pharmacological activities.

A higher priced active ingredient, but in this case, we feel it is definitely worth the additional cost.

Usage: Apply a few drops to clean skin in the morning, immediately after bathing or washing face. Wait 5-10 minutes before applying other products.

Great results

I love the serum only Vit C serum that does not burn my face . Bottle clogged up after 3rd use. Opening top causes early oxidation . PLEASE get a better dispenser. I have asked this before but no changes to bottle .

A Permanent Part Of My Routine!

I love everything about this Serum! It absorbs so well, and is one of the most stable forms of vitamin C, helping my skin combat time, and the harsh elements we face daily. It's helping me to better control my melasma, along with other antioxidants.

Map Vitamin C Serum

I have used the serum for several years. I’m 79yr and have some age spots on my hands and arms; it has helped to lighten these spots. I also use it on my face along with Night Renewal Cream and Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I have no wrinkles; I do have some sagging. I am told I look much younger than 79. I have done extensive research and believe Babyface products are as effective as possible and reasonably priced.

Best Product Ever

I have been using this product for about 5 years now. I use it every morning under the Babyface Massive hydration hyaluronic acid serum with vitamin C and Matrixyl 3000. These products together are amazing and keep my skin toned and tight and wrinkle free. I will not put my make up on without these two products and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to keep their skin looking young.

MAP Vitamin C- Sensitive Skin

I received this as a gift from a friend who knows I have very sensitive skin and that I have had difficulty with vitamin c products. This still seems to irritate my skin. I have tried other well known brands with c e Ferulic that have a 10% and 15% formula and another with 20%, and they all make my face itch, tingle and get small rash like bumps. I am 53 and want to use vitamin c to brighten and give glow to my face. I thought MAP was better for very sensitive skin, but I still seem to have issues with this. It makes my skin feel dry(maybe because it’s not more of a cream base rather than liquid/water), it still seems to irritate it. Is this really good for sensitive skin? Is there a way to incorporate it in my skincare routine? Can it be mixed into my moisturizer and then onto skin?

Babyface

Hi Trae, I'm sorry to hear it did not work out for your skin. This serum is usually fine for sensitive skin, so your reaction is not normal. Your skin is what would be referred to as "overly sensitive." Sometimes, if the skin barrier is damaged, this type of reaction can occur. Please e-mail our customer service and they can try to find something that may be helpful for you.
